Case Study:

Snowsports Scotland.

Intro.

Snowsports Scotland is the national governing body for all snow sports events held in Scotland, in 2010 they held an invitational slope style rail jam at Ross Band Stand in Princes Street Gardens. The aim of this event was to raise the profile of snow sports by curating a freestyle jump competition in the central area of Edinburgh’s Princes Street. The organisers shipped in real snow to build the jump course for this event, which was a site to behold in the city centre.

What we did.

For this event we supplied a large stack of sound system, rider friendly DJ equipment and a few of our DJ’s, the sound system was set up on the stage at the Ross Band Stand and faced towards the area where the crowd would gather to watch the competition. This was a daytime event and we had to work within the constraints of the staff at Princes Street Gardens and the organisers, who during set up, were rather preoccupied with building a jump course out of a massive pile of freshly dumped snow.

Results.

The event was really good and our system could be heard loud and clear from the west end to the east end of Princes Street, which I’m sure was a treat for the busy day-time xmas shoppers. The overall look of the set up was quite breath taking, especially with Edinburgh Castle as a back drop.
