Electrikal Sound System return to Glasgow for our second ever show, this time we have Glasgow native Kode9 (Hyperdub) and Lewisham’s finest, Novelist (XL Recordings) in tow.

Kode9

Originally from Glasgow, but based in South London since 2000, Kode9 set up the legendary record label Hyperdub in 2004, infamous for unleashing artists such as Burial and countless others on the world. His early DJ sets and radio shows helped spread the early dubstep sound internationally, but his sets now weave together an unpredictable, bass heavy mix of house, garage, dubstep, grime, footwork, hip hop, r&b, techno and jungle.

Novelist

Kojo Kankam, better known by his stage name Novelist, is one of the best MC’s to come out of the Grime scene in recent years.
The 18-year-old grew up immersed in the Grime scene, and built up a following through appearances on underground radio stations such as Flex, NTS and Rinse FM. His collaboration with Mumdance, ‘Take Time’ became one of 2014’s biggest Grime tracks and their second release on XL Recordings, ‘1 Sec’ further cemented his well-earned place at the top of the new wave.
